Multipath Information Signaling

Signaling multipath information can be advantageous in multiple scenarios, like providing a backup path or distributing the traffic and optimizing the network resources across the available paths. In this test, we conducted two iterations, both with Keysight IxNetwork as a PCE and H3C CR16000-M1A as a PCC. The Multipath information, specifically the SR-Policy with 2 candidate paths and a weight associated with each path (40 and 60), was carried over BGP as specified in the internet draft "draft-ietf-idr-bgp-ls-sr-policy,". The weight assigned to each path will result in a load balancing of 40% on the first path and 60% on the second  The dataplane used in the test was SR-MPLS in one run and SRv6 μSID in the second run.
