E-Line Service

RFC 8214 defines the Virtual Private Wire Service (VPWS) support in Ethernet VPN (EVPN). VPWS offers customers a private and secure point-to-point service. When combined with EVPN, EVPN improves VPWS with its features, like scalability, redundancy, and flexibility, making VPWS a secure and robust solution for point-to-point connections.
In our test, we sent end-to-end unicast traffic and observed no packet loss. Load balancing was also worked between multihomed all-active DUTs (all multihomed DUTs were configured to work under all-active mode). Then, we performed the switchover for the multihomed DUT group. We observed packet loss, but traffic recovered within 3 seconds, which is expected behavior.
Spirent TestCenter was used as the traffic generator for this test.
