Label Switched Path (LSP) Ping Mechanisms for EVPN
RFC 9489 defines the Label-Switched Path (LSP) Ping Mechanism for EVPN. This mechanism is widely used for Operations, Administration, and Maintenance (OAM) in MPLS networks.
Our test focused on section 4.3.3, which specifically pertains to the EVPN-VPWS. We configured the EVPN VPWS between two DUTs. While the DUTs sent MPLS pings, we conducted a packet capture. We then verified the captured packets, confirming that the MPLS echo reply contained a return code set to 3, as specified by the RFC.
