Distribution of TE Policies and State using BGP-LS

In network environments where not all nodes support PCEP, distributing TE policies using other protocols like BGP-LS helps the path computation element by decision-making and optimizing the traffic path across the network. In this test, we verified the PCC's capability to report TE policies to the PCE using BGP-LS in a multivendor environment.
The test steps are as follows

  • Verify the BGP-LS session between the  PCE and PCC
  • Export TE policies from the PCC to the PCC
  • Ensure the PCE has correctly received and decoded the TE policies
We executed two iterations, Keysigh with IxNetwork as PCE and H3C with CR16000-M1A as PCC. One iteration was conducted over SR-MPLS and the other over SRv6.
