Service Assurance using TWAMP

The Two-Way Active Measurement Protocol (TWAMP) enables active performance monitoring by providing precise delay, jitter, and packet loss measurements between network devices. In this test, we validated TWAMP-based SLA monitoring across multi-vendor devices under centralized controller control.
The controller created TWAMP sessions using the software generator and reflector functions. Sessions ran over IPv6 and IPv4, depending on the setup.
Each session defined packet rate, packet size, DSCP, TTL, and VLAN ID. UDP was used as transport. Sender and reflector roles were clearly assigned. All sessions reached the running state after setup.
The controller reported one-way delay, round-trip delay, delay variation, jitter, and packet loss.
All sessions remained in the running state during observation. Delay, jitter, and packet loss values were continuously updated throughout the measurement period.
