7 Class C/D Boundary Clocks (T-BCs) are being used to meet the strict time synchronization requirements needed by modern, highly time-sensitive networks, such as 5G.
8 While several metrics have defined limits for Class C T-BCs in ITU-T G.8273.2, giving a clear overview of which requirements need to be met, this is not yet the case for Class D. Only one requirement is specified in ITU-T G.8273.2, section 7.1, table 7-2: a low-pass filtered maximum absolute time error of (max|TE,,L,,| ≤ 5 ns).
9 The performance of the devices this year showed improvement over those tested in previous years: every T-BC tested this year was with a big margin within the threshold of the Class D performance limit of (max|TE,,L,,| ≤ 5 ns).
10 For the first time at EANTC, we also tested Time Synchronization over 800GE links for the Juniper PTX10002-36QDD using the Calnex Paragon-Neo S, which was also successfully executed and within the Class D performance limit.
11 Additionally, all devices were successfully tested for the Class C conformance test this year.

15 The setup of both test cases consisted of an emulated Grandmaster (T-GM ) and an emulated Slave Clock (SC), with the T-BC under test being located in between them.
16 While these tests were not interoperability tests, they were still of utmost importance as further tests require either the Class C or Class D qualifications.
