Binding Segment Identifiers (BSID) simplifies the forwarding plane by aggregating multiple segments of a segment routing path into one identifier. This mechanism reduces the stack depth required on intermediate nodes and optimizes network resource utilization. As specified in RFC9604, The PCE can assign Binding SIDs to paths and signal them to the PCC, which acts as an intermediate node and uses these Binding SIDs to encapsulate and forward traffic along the assigned LSP. |
8 |
The test steps were: |
9 |
1. Establish and verify the PCEP sessions between the PCE and PCC |
10 |
1. Compute and signal a binding SID to the PCC |
11 |
1. Verify the successful BSID instantiation on the PCE and the association with an extended LSP |
