7 The PCE and PCC-initiated paths cover a large number of use cases for path computation initiation. However, starting the path computation process still requires manual intervention. Dynamic path instantiation allows the network, specifically the PCCs, to automatically trigger a path computation request upon receiving a new route to a destination.
8 The test was conducted using the following steps:
9 *. Validate the PCEP session between the PCE and the PCC
10 *. Advertise a new route to the PCC from an ingress PE, triggering a path request
11 *. Computing and signaling a path by the PCE to the PCC
12 *. Validate the correct path instantiation on the PCC
13 We carried out two iterations using Keysight with IxNetwork as the PCE and H3C with CR16000-M1A as the PCC, along with CR16005E-F, the ingress PE router that advertised the route to the PCC. The first iteration used SR-MPLS, and the second used SRv6 μSID.
